Kat Clark was distraught after witnessing Virgin Australia’s behaviour towards her daughter.
On Monday, she voiced her outrage on Instagram, after a tense encounter during a routine airport check-in.
The TikTok star and her 13-year-old daughter, Deja, were set to board the flight when a staff member reportedly began to mock her headgear, which protected her curly hair.
This left the mother in shock, and she took to social media to rant about the staff’s unprofessional and impolite behaviour.
“A Virgin staff member checking us in for our flight walked out from behind her desk, came up to Deja mocking her bonnet,” she revealed in an Instagram story.
“She then asked Deja to show her hair and when she refused, she tried to lift up her bonnet!”
In the following snap, she continued to express how unpleasant the incident was and thanked her followers for validating how she felt.
“I thought I’d be calm by now but after reading your comments, you’ve made me all realise I’m not overreacting,” the mom influencer stated, and confirmed that she has filed an official complaint against the employee.
A spokesperson for the airline spoke to DailyMail Australia and said, “We always strive to provide the highest standards of customer service and we apologise that this interaction did not meet those standards.
“We have reached out to our guests today to apologise directly.”
