Wicked: Part Two title revealed

Wicked: Part Two got an official title.

Universal Pictures has officially renamed the sequel to its hit musical film Wicked: Part One as Wicked: For Good.

The highly anticipated second installment is set to hit theaters on November 21, 2025.

The new title draws inspiration from Wicked’s emotional Act 2 number, “For Good,” which reflects the profound impact of friendship between Glinda the Good and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West.

Wicked: Part One, which opened on November 22, 2024, has been a massive success at the box office.

The film has grossed $359 million domestically and surpassed $524 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Broadway adaptation in U.S. box office history, ahead of 1978’s Grease.

It also stands as the second-highest global stage-to-screen musical after 2008’s Mamma Mia, which earned $611 million worldwide.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, the Wicked films star Ariana Grande as Glinda, Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jonathan Bailey. The story, based on the Broadway phenomenon, explores events before, during, and after The Wizard of Oz.

Part One focused on Glinda and Elphaba’s time at Shiz University, where their rivalry turned into a deep friendship.

Wicked: For Good will continue the story as Elphaba embraces her powers and is declared an enemy by the Wizard and Madame Morrible.
